Please know that fertility issues are very hard for people and you deserve support!
Here are some resources my clients have found helpful:
*RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. They offer tons of great information on all types of family building and support for the journey, including links to local in-person support groups. The groups are peer-led or professionally led. I can personally testify to the great work being done by Dr. Jeanette Truchsess in her professionally led groups. She has a new one starting specifically for women and couples considering donor eggs.
There are also many ways to get involved in making treatment for infertility more accessible, visit this link to get started. Talking to friends and family who have never struggled with infertility is, well, a struggle, and it is not uncommon to walk away from these conversations feeling more wounded versus understood and supported. Resolve gives some good ideas on how to prepare yourself for these conversations and resources to educate those around you.
*Building your Family: The Infertility & Adoption Guide. They provide tons of information regarding many routes to parenthood. Good resource regarding the new frontier of embryo adoption.
*Reproductive fact sheets for patients from the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) cover a variety of fertility questions from “How do I know I am ovulating?” to “What is sperm morphology?”
